Like in GTA San Andreas, two of the girlfriends are introduced during the storyline. The other three girlfriends are met online from the dating websites, as from the amusing interactions between Niko Bellic and the women he dates, there can be several in-game benefits to starting a relationship with any of the datable characters. So, when GTA 4's game-time stat read 35 hours after just three days and my eyes were blood-shot it was obvious that this was not your average video game - not even your average great video game. After more than 40 hours Rockstar's most ambitious game to date was over and left me wondering if I'll ever be able to look at 'normal' video games in the same way again.Going out with NPC's to bars to get drunk and play darts was a real drag.Maybe fun in real life, but boring as hell in a videogame. (It's a weird game) But yeah sorry, you can't date on this game.
They could have been profiles you see in real life dating site most of the time. Also, the world had none of the variety that San Andreas had. I thought IV was hilarious, Niko and Roman were really funny and the characters were the usual Rockstar whack jobs.
"That's so cool" was said more than once in the first five minutes - before the game had even given me the controls - and it's a phrase that became increasingly common - joined by big grins - over the course of the game. Early missions revolve around helping out your cousin Roman, who runs a taxi cab business.
It's here that you'll get to grips with the ins and outs of GTA 4, including the new waypoint system for navigation (in-game GPS), your mobile phone (essentially your link to all your contacts in the game), the new combat system and the way missions work.
